At the Michigan Local Board Meeting held on Monday July 18, Local President Jayne Bower announced that she has accepted employment with SAG-AFTRA in the Chicago Local as a Broadcast Business Representative and therefore must submit her resignation as Local President. Pursuant to Section 6.7 of the Michigan Local Constitution, Eric Wydra was appointed to serve as the new president of the local to fill the vacancy created by Jayne Bower’s resignation. Additional vacancies in the Local Board Officer positions were then filled as follows: Phil Elam as 3rd Vice President and Shane Carson as Secretary.
Congratulations go to Eric Wydra, Phil Elam and Shane Carson and best wishes to Jayne Bower in her new position. The members of the Michigan Local are very fortunate to have such incredible leadership - including all of the board members - at the helm.
