The cars may have been the stars at this year’s auto shows, but also shining brightly were three of our local members.
As 2014 got underway, the 25th North American International Auto Show kicked off in the Motor City for 11 bitter cold days in January.
SAG-AFTRA Michigan Local President Jayne Bower co-anchored the news on WWJ Newsradio 950 (CBS Radio in Detroit), along with member Greg Bowman, during the afternoon drive, live from the auto show in Detroit at Cobo Center.
Jo-Jo Shutty-MacGregor, Second Vice President, anchored the traffic reports for WWJ, giving live updates on traffic tie-ups around the Motor City on both weekends of the auto show.
Both enjoyed the opportunity to interact with WWJ listeners who stopped by and visited with them at their vantage point from the WWJ remote studio on “Radio Row” in the newly renovated lobby of Cobo Center. The location now offers an outstanding view of the Detroit riverfront from two levels.
Our local’s national board member, Peter Tocco, not only was featured at this year’s auto show in Detroit, but was also “on the road,” working the auto shows in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Minneapolis.
We’re sooooo proud of them and all of our other members who represent us throughout the country!
