SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland continues to be recognized for his leadership and advocacy work for the LGBTQ+ community.
SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland was among the 2024 honorees at the Stonewall Democratic Club of New York awards event on June 12 in New York City.
Nearly 150 LGBTQ+ leaders, including New York City-based activists and politically involved public figures, as well as city and state officials, were in attendance. Accompanying Crabtree-Ireland were SAG-AFTRA Vice President, New York and N.Y. Local President Ezra Knight and N.Y. Local Board and LGBTQ Committee member Ray DeForest.
The award ceremony, which recognizes the work of LBGTQ+ leaders within the community, also serves as its annual Pride Month event. This year’s ceremony was themed “Love Will Save the Day.” Other honorees included N.Y. state Assembly member Danny O’Donnell, Pride Center of Staten Island Executive Director Carol Bullock, Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC President Emeritus Justin Sanchez, and Equality New York Community Liaison Tanya A. Walker. Delaware state Sen. Sarah McBride also made a special virtual appearance.
Crabtree-Ireland continues to be recognized for his leadership and advocacy work. Earlier this year, he received the At the River I Stand Award during the 2024 Dr. Martin Luther Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference on Jan. 14.
The Stonewall Democratic Club of New York City, founded in 1986, is the first and only citywide LGBTQ+ Democratic organization in New York City. It continues to advocate for legislation that guarantees equality and fairness for the LGBTQ+ community in New York City and New York State.
