We started out on a broadcast network when everyone was watching broadcast [television]. Then, we moved to cable when everyone was watching cable. And now, we’ve gone to streaming when everyone is watching streaming. So there has been a nice evolution to our audience and how we approach [making the show].

Jon Brockett

SAG Awards Executive Producer

The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® took place on Feb. 24, airing live globally for the first time on Netflix. Following a successful run on the streaming platform’s YouTube channel the year prior, this year’s show was highly anticipated and did not disappoint, with surprises, laughs, tears and some truly historic firsts.

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland is joined on this podcast episode by members of this year’s production team: SAG Awards Executive Producer Jon Brockett, show director Alex Rudzinki and head writer Matt Roberts. Brockett, Rudzinki and Roberts take us backstage and walk us through the behind-the-scenes production process for this year’s show. Get the inside scoop on some of the show’s most memorable moments and join us as we relive some of our favorites.

The 30th Annual SAG Awards is available for streaming on Netflix now through March 23. Visit sagawards.org for more highlights, news and updates.
