Chris Shiflett Headshot

Foo Fighters lead guitarist Chris Shiflett discusses the importance of the modern-day labor movement’s presence in industries today.

Musician Chris Shiflett has been the lead guitarist for the Foo Fighters since first signing on with the legendary rock band in 1999, and over the years, has gained notoriety with rock music lovers. He has not only enjoyed commercial success with his own solo albums, West Coast Town and Hard Lessons, but with the popular podcast Walking the Floor. Still, what fans both young and old may not know is that he’s a staunch supporter of unions, especially as the livelihoods of workers within the labor movement continue to be affected by the presence of technology.

In this podcast episode, SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris and National Executive David White interview Shiflett to discuss his career, the state of the music industry and the difficulties gig workers and musicians now face post-COVID, and the importance of protecting workers’ rights.
