This episode of the podcast is a replay of the SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement’s livestream, Through the Latino Lens. The panel, which first aired Sept. 29, took place as part of Hispanic Heritage Month and is the third installment of the PTEOE’s ongoing Race & Storytelling series.
Moderated by Good Day L.A. anchor Amanda Salas, the panel featured members Dan Bucatinsky (The Baker and the Beauty), Gloria Calderón Kellett (One Day at a Time), Nicholas Gonzalez (The Good Doctor) and Gina Torres (Suits); CSA casting director Carla Hool; and Jolene Rodriguez, the president of independent film and media production company Broken English Productions, as guests. The group discussed topics ranging from challenges Latino performers face in their portrayal of certain roles to striving for more authentic storytelling and inclusion.
