Learn exactly what the Interim Agreement is — and what it isn’t — in this SAG-AFTRA podcast episode.

It’s so important we keep journeymen actors working so they have more opportunities during the strike, and we maintain our resolve. And, whoever works on an Interim Agreement production will get [more benefits] now than ever before!

Fran Drescher

SAG-AFTRA President

As a part of the union’s overall strategy in the TV/Theatrical/Streaming strike, SAG-AFTRA has made available to indie producers Interim Agreements that include all the terms and conditions in the union’s final offer to the AMPTP. Independent producers have been eager to sign the agreements, demonstrating that — despite what the big studios are claiming — the union’s proposed wage increases, residuals formulas and other contractual terms are reasonable and realistic. In addition, the strategy of deploying Interim Agreements has historic precedence, having been successfully used in past strikes.

SAG-AFTRA believes the agreement maintains our strength, solidarity and upper hand during our negotiations, and this episode takes a closer look at the Interim Agreement’s details and development. Featured SAG-AFTRA national officers and member leaders — SAG-AFTRA President and TV/Theatrical Negotiating Committee Chair Fran Drescher, Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair, committee vice chairs Linda Powell and Tom Kemp, committee members David Jolliffe and Shaan Sharma, and National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland — discuss exactly what the Interim Agreement is — and what it isn’t (it’s not a waiver). Together, the group offers insight into the agreement’s terms and benefits for members, dispels misinformation, addresses frequently asked questions and explains how the agreement helps to bring positive, impactful change to the industry’s landscape.
