"I am deeply saddened by a great loss to the stunt community. Stunt performers know they have a dangerous job, and they take every precaution to do their jobs safely. Even so, these adventurous souls spend their days falling from buildings and dodging explosives. That is why the Oct. 11 deaths of veteran stuntmen Bob Orrison and Gary McLarty in a car accident seem particularly shocking. It happened in the middle of the day on a public street. My wife Linda and I would like to express our sympathy to their families during this trying time, and, on behalf of the members of SAG-AFTRA, I offer my condolences and a promise that these two friends, colleagues, and extraordinary stunt professionals will not be forgotten," said President Ken Howard.
