SAG-AFTRA mourns the loss of Gloria DeHaven, a screen star of Hollywood’s golden age. DeHaven passed away July 30 at the age of 91. DeHaven was best known for her work in musicals in the 1940s and ’50s, including Two Girls and a Sailor, So This is Paris and Summer Holiday.
“With Gloria DeHaven’s passing, we have lost another precious link to the classical cinema of yesteryear. Gloria was a talented actor and singer, and she will be sorely missed,” said SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris.
DeHaven’s career spanned more than six decades, from a bit part in Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times in 1936 to a guest role in Touched by an Angel in 2000. She received both her SAG and AFTRA union cards in 1940.
