SAG-AFTRA-represented stations were recently honored for outstanding achievements in electronic journalism, winning multiple regional categories of the Radio Television Digital News Association’s Edward R. Murrow awards. KOMO-TV and KING-TV won twelve out of thirteen Region 1 categories for Large-Market Television, including awards in television news reporting, writing, ongoing coverage, and technical categories. KOMO also received the Overall Excellence commendation for its region. KPLU-FM was honored in Large-Market Radio for its news series “If It’s Legal.” SAG-AFTRA is proud of the excellence its members regularly exhibit in electronic journalism.
 
The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.
