Wynonna Judd Music Showcase, Film Panels and More Highlight Conference Week LOS ANGELES (March 13, 2015) --- SAG-AFTRA, SAGindie and the Screen Actors Guild Foundation are returning to Austin with a jam-packed schedule of 2015 South by Southwest (SXSW) events, workshops and receptions for the interactive, film and music conference, including a Friday night showcase with Wynonna Judd. SXSW events include a booth at the official trade show from March 15-18; the SAGindie and DGA Happy Hour (March 16); and several SAG Foundation workshops for members (March 14-15), as well as official SXSW film panels (March 14-16). The week culminates with Wynonna Judd and her band, The Big Noise, headlining a music showcase presented by SAG-AFTRA on March 20. “SXSW highlights some of the best work being done by SAG-AFTRA members,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director David White. “From film to interactive to music, our attendance every year has evolved and we are excited to return with another roster of great events, including hosting a premier showcase featuring up-and-coming artists. We are particularly thrilled to sponsor a showcase with Wynonna Judd, an award-winning and long-time union member who will surely bring the house down!” “South by Southwest is the place to be for independent film, which is why we love coming back each year,” said SAGindie National Director Darrien Michele Gipson. “There is such a great mix of talent here, from our members to filmmakers, and that allows us to really connect with this diverse industry and educate them about the ease of working under our agreements.” “We're excited to be back at SXSW Film for our third year. We're hosting two incredible panels on acting with heads of major studio casting departments and some of today’s leading independent directors,” said SAG Foundation National Director of Actors Programs Rochelle Rose. “In addition, we’re bringing two full days of free casting workshops and industry panels to SAG-AFTRA members. Educating union actors across the country and offering them direct access to leading casting and industry professionals is what we do and we’re excited to be back in Austin doing it again.” Schedule of Events, Workshops and Receptions Official SXSW Film Panel: Studio Star Power – How Casting Really Works presented by the SAG Foundation.
