Los Angeles, CA (August 13, 2014)---SAG-AFTRA celebrates the life and legacy of Lauren Bacall, who passed away Tuesday at age 89.

Said SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard, “She was a warm and lovely person and especially kind and gracious to me back when I was starting out in New York and over the years since. We were both doing shows on Broadway and she was, of course, a very well-regarded star, but there was no distance. She was just one of the gang and always felt the special kinship that actors have for fellow actors. Such a terrific talent, a legendary personality and a luminous and beautiful soul. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Wishing her a good journey.”
