SAG-AFTRA Statement on Nomination of Marty Walsh for Labor Secretary

LOS ANGELES —  SAG-AFTRA commends President-elect Joe Biden for nominating Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to lead the Department of Labor at this most critical time for working Americans. Walsh, a long-standing champion of workers and unions, has the vision and experience to implement President-elect Biden’s pro-worker agenda. We congratulate Mayor Walsh and look forward to working with him to strengthen protections for workers, improve safety and security, increase opportunities for women, people of color and people with disabilities, and help rebuild a strong foundation for all working Americans as we navigate through and beyond the current global pandemic.
