SAG-AFTRA mourns the loss of Naomi Judd, who passed away today at age 76; our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.

The Grammy-winning icon was due to be inducted, along with her daughter and singing partner, Wynona Judd, into the Country Music Hall of Fame tomorrow. They were also set to go on tour later this year after a decades-long hiatus.

The Judds had 14 No.1 songs between 1984 and 1991, including “Turn it Loose,” “Mama He’s Crazy” and “Why Not Me.” She also had several acting roles throughout the years, including in television and feature films, such as “An Evergreen Christmas” and “Nearlyweds.”

Naomi Judd was a force of nature, and an inspiration to countless performers, young and old. Her music was a source of joy across generations.

In 1991, Judd announced her retirement due to health issues related to Hepatitis C and went on to serve as a spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.

Judd leaves behind her daughters, Wynonna and Ashley Judd, as well as husband Larry Strickland.
