A group of people are holding black signs with the white SAG-AFTRA logo, reading “SAG-AFTRA in Solidarity” in white and yellow text. There are people to the right of the image with navy and white signs that read “Musicians United: Better Healthcare.”

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, SAG-AFTRA members joined the American Federation of Musicians and Local 802 in Manhattan at their Rally for a Fair Contract. Last summer, AFM and Local 802 members were fixtures on SAG-AFTRA picket lines, and SAG-AFTRA members continue to show their solidarity with the musicians as they begin contract negotiations.

AFM International President Tino Gagliardi and Local 802 President and Executive Director Sara Cutler gave remarks, and SAG-AFTRA New York Local President Ezra Knight and Chief Labor Policy Officer & New York Executive Director Rebecca Damon also addressed the crowd with a show of support. Members of the Writers Guild of America East and other unions also came out.
