SAG-AFTRA gifts mentees with school supplies and gift cards to help them soar in their roles as successful young women.

The Hollywood Reporter held its Women in Entertainment gala on Dec. 8 in Los Angeles. The gala, which returned as an in-person ceremony, commemorated the release of the publication’s 2021 Women in Entertainment Power 100 list, which recognizes influential female figures working in the film and television industry. The event also celebrated the young women participating in THR’s mentorship program, which SAG-AFTRA proudly sponsors.

Honorees included SAG-AFTRA members Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), recipient of the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, and Selma Blair (Introducing Selma Blair). Also in attendance were SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair, Secretary-Treasurer Joely Fisher, Vice President, Actor/Performers William Charlton, Los Angeles Local President Jodi Long and National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.

Each year, THR pairs female high school students from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles with women in leadership roles throughout the industry. For the seventh year, SAG-AFTRA gifted mentees with backpacks filled with school supplies, gift cards and other items.
