The Washington-Baltimore Local of SAG-AFTRA was one of the festival sponsors for this year’s DC Labor FilmFest, which “boasts an array of new films and beloved classics about work and workers across the globe.” Along with being a festival sponsor, SAG-AFTRA was one of the sponsors of the screenings of Billy Elliot, which revolves around the UK Miners’ Strike in the late 1980s. This year was the twelfth year of this festival, and is organized and sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of the AFL-CIO. Along with Billy Elliot, the festival screened eleven films throughout the week-long festival, both feature films and documentaries alike, such as Office Space and We Are Wisconsin.

SAG-AFTRA Washington-Baltimore was honored to be a part of such a wonderful event that showcased many of our members and the legacy of workers and unions in this country and around the world.
