On March 7 and 8, 2025, SAG-AFTRA leadership attended the New Jersey State AFL-CIO 19th Annual Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference in East Brunswick, New Jersey. WILD is held every March in conjunction with International Women’s month and is one of the most successful women’s empowerment events in the country. The conference was hosted by N.J. State AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Laurel Brennan and N.J. State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech. N.J. Sen. Andy Kim addressed the over 300 women at the WILD conference. SAG-AFTRA Chief Labor Policy Officer & New York Local Executive Director Rebecca Damon spoke to attendees about communicating union values and the significance of women’s union leadership. Other speakers included Christyne Neff, senior advisor to the president of the AFL-CIO and Janet Gerhard, director of public and community affairs for the FHE Health.
