Auction Benefits the SAG Foundation’s Children’s Literacy and Emergency Assistance Programs

LOS ANGELES (December 31, 2014) – The SAG Awards® Red Carpet Bleacher Seat Auction, the second in a trio of online auctions benefitting the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, begins today at 9 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (PT) at sagawards.org/auction. Film and television fans will be able to bid on over 100 bleacher seats, from which they can see their favorite stars walk the SAG Awards Red Carpet and have the opportunity to take pictures and request autographs. Special VIP positioning includes front row seats across from the platforms for E’s Live from the Red Carpet and PEOPLE.com as well as across from the photographers and fashion cameras. The auction closes Saturday, January 10 at 9 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (PT).

Proceeds from the SAG Awards Red Carpet Bleacher Seats Auction support the SAG Foundation’s signature children's literacy programs: BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), reading to over 60,000 children monthly in classrooms and hospitals nationwide, and Storyline Online, attracting over 4 million global views each month. The auction also supports the SAG Foundation's Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance programs for performers in need.

The SAG Awards Ceremony Auction, the final auction in the series, is scheduled to begin Friday, January 23. Featured items donated by this year’s nominees and presenters will include autographed scripts, posters, wardrobe and props. Opportunities to visit sets will also be offered, as will packages and experiences from sponsors and entertainment media outlets.
