SAG Awards Reception at Croatian Embassy

The Screen Actors Guild Awards Art Reception was held at the Croatian Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 18. The art reception, produced by SAG-AFTRA member Bruce McBarnette, featured the work of artist Myra Maslowsky and sculptor Normon Green, as well as the televised broadcast from Los Angeles of the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony.  The event benefited Charlie’s Place, a homeless service center in Washington, D.C., and was attended by several local actors, diplomats and patrons of the arts.

McBarnette said, “It was so wonderful that the ambassador of Croatia was willing to allow this event to be held at the embassy. It is such a beautiful venue.”

Beverly Burke, former CBS TV news anchor, and Ingrid Parris-Hicklin, host of the Fairfax cable TV show Ingrid's World, also hosted the event with McBarnette, who has organized SAG Awards viewing parties for 16 years. Face reader Gail Romiti provided entertainment to the sold-out crowd.
