In October, members received their SAG-AFTRA semi-annual dues statement along with information on the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension plan for members experiencing COVID-19-related financial hardship. GOOD NEWS: an additional extension has been approved that extends the deadline for requesting dues relief to this Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, with the first installment payment also due by that date. This is also the new deadline for SAG-AFTRA to receive a member's November 2020 dues or installment payment for SAG Awards voting and For Your Consideration material eligibility. 

It's critical we receive a first installment payment by Thursday, Jan. 14 if a member wants to retain good standing status. Members should refer to their billing statement for complete information and visit sagaftra.org/billing-portal to elect the dues relief extension and pay the first installment payment or dues before the deadline. A member can also pay online at (855) 736-0900 (have SAG-AFTRA ID ready when calling). Payment by phone and the website is available 24/7. Dues payments allows critical services of the union, such as residuals processing, legal advocacy and member support services, to continue without disruption. SAG Awards Voting and FYC Materials: If applicable, to maintain eligibility for SAG Awards voting and “For Your Consideration” materials, an extension has been granted by the Executive Committee to require that a request for a due date extension and the November 2020 dues first installment payment must be received no later than Jan. 14, 2021. 

Election Eligibility Reminder for the Dues Relief Extension: In order to meet the November dues period good-standing eligibility requirement to be nominated for election as a national or local board officer, national board member, local board member and convention delegate, members should ensure that their November 2020 dues bill payment is received by SAG-AFTRA no later than Jan. 14, 2021, or make a request for the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension no later than Jan. 14, 2021, and make all payments in compliance with the program (first installment payment must be received on or before Jan. 14 and second payment with the April 2 due date must be received on or before April 12).

If the November 2020 dues payment is not received by Jan. 14, 2021 and a member has not made a request for a dues extension by Jan. 14, 2021 with the first installment payment also due on that date, or if the member's dues payments are not in compliance with the installment deadlines outlined above, they will not be eligible to run for a national or local board officer, national board member, local board member and convention delegate position. Failure to pay dues in accordance with the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension may also affect a member's ability to vote, nominate and participate in referenda.
