LOS ANGELES (February 11, 2013) — The Screen Actors Guild Foundation has released its 2013 promotional video – "We're all in this together”—featuring a celebrity line-up of supporters including Alan Arkin, Matt Damon, SAG Foundation Ambassador Alec Baldwin, SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams, Laura Linney, John Hawkes, cast members of NBC’s ‘Community’ Yvette Nichole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Dani Pudi and Jim Rash, cast members of NBC’s ‘Go On’ Matthew Perry and Sarah Baker, and SAG Foundation Board Member Susan Sullivan along with several performers who have participated in the SAG Foundation’s no-cost programs.
“From the up-and-coming actors to veteran performers like myself, the Foundation is here to help all of us,” says Alan Arkin, SAG Awards Best Ensemble winner for ‘Argo,’ who spoke at a SAG Foundation event in December 2012.
“As fellow artists, we’ve all been there. It’s crucial that we remember where we came from and help out however we can,” says Matt Damon who participated in a Conversations Q&A at the SAG Foundation’s Actors Center in December 2012.
According to SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams, “For over 25 years, the SAG Foundation has been the industry’s best kept secret and we’re out to change that.”
The one-minute promo video describes the SAG Foundation’s assistance, professional development and children’s literacy programs and calls on SAG-AFTRA members to support the Foundation because “we’re all in this together.” As a nonprofit organization, the SAG Foundation is not funded by union dues and relies solely on donations. The video will be screened before SAG Foundation events for SAG-AFTRA audiences and will be posted to the SAG Foundation’s website and YouTube channel.
