Los Angeles (March 15, 2005)---Screen Actors Guild mourns the loss of Tom Dillon, who served as president of The Actors' Fund of America from 1989 to 2004. He was 86. With one of the longest presidential tenures in the Fund's 122-year history, Dillon led the organization through a period of significant growth and achievement.

Dillon, an accomplished actor and singer himself, was married to the former Alice Parker for 61 years. He was a proud member of Actors Equity, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and American Guild of Variety Artists.

"Tom Dillon enjoyed a dazzling career working with the likes of Karl Malden, John Forsythe, Red Buttons, Milton Berle and Perry Como," SAG President Melissa Gilbert said. "But he was also a true champion of all actors. We will always cherish Mr. Dillon's remarkable work for the Actor's Fund of America, an organization dedicated to aiding performers in so many social capacities. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family today."
