San Diego Conservatory Examines Audition Best Practices

On Oct. 9, the San Diego Local hosted a conservatory event, Audition Best Practices. Leading the discussion was accomplished director, producer and acting coach Tom Logan. Over the course of his more than 40-year career, Logan has directed commercials, television shows and films, making him well qualified to discuss audition do’s and don’ts.

Throughout the conservatory, Logan talked about the mistakes he’s seen actors make during their auditions. He was very precise in describing to participants the best ways to slate, establish the opening shot before beginning dialogue and how to exit gracefully after the audition.
 
After more than two hours of noteworthy acting tips, Logan generously stayed to answer all questions from attending members. All who attended appreciated the insight he shared.
