More than Two Hundred Actors, Broadcasters & Recording Artists Have Signed On Including: Angela Bassett, Jackson Browne, Nicolas Cage, Kevin Costner, George Clooney, Bob Edwards, Hector Elizondo, Danny Glover, Tom Hanks, Marlee Matlin, Willie Nelson and Kevin Spacey.

Los Angeles, CA – Demonstrating the growing support for the Consolidation and Affiliation plan overwhelmingly passed by both their National Boards, AFTRA and Screen Actors Guild today released a list of over 200 prominent members who endorse the consolidation of the two unions. These performers represent actors, broadcasters and recording artists who regularly work under AFTRA and SAG contracts.

Today’s announcement coincides with advertisements, featuring celebrity Consolidation and Affiliation supporters that AFTRA and SAG are running in Hollywood Reporter, Daily Variety and Backstage Magazine.

Among the stars who support Consolidation are: Adam Arkin, Rene Auberjonois, Kevin Bacon, Angela Bassett, Jackson Browne, Gabriel Byrne, Nicolas Cage, George Clooney, Kevin Costner, James Cromwell, Richard Dreyfuss, Bob Edwards, Hector Elizondo, Jane Fonda, Janeane Garofalo, Danny Glover, Tom Hanks, Anjelica Huston, Casey Kasem, Eriq La Salle, Christine Lahti, Christopher Lloyd, Marlee Matlin, Willie Nelson, Lynn Redgrave, Bob Saget, Kyra Sedgwick, Martin Sheen, Susan Sullivan, Courtney B. Vance, Max Weinberg, Bradley Whitford and Moon Zappa. Former SAG Presidents Patty Duke, Richard Masur and William Schallert are endorsers as well. The Consolidation plan calls for the creation of an umbrella Union and three Affiliates respectively, SAG for actors, AFTRA for broadcasters and AFRA for recording artists.

Each union will send referendums for ratification to its members in June. Both AFTRA and SAG’s Constitution and Bylaws require at least a 60% majority of votes cast for passage.
