Los Angeles (October, 17, 2008) - Screen Actors Guild announced the results of the division elections for the union's three national vice presidents. At meetings held on October 6, the Hollywood Division Board elected Anne-Marie Johnson as 1st national vice-president; and the New York Division Board re-elected New York Division President Sam Freed, as 2nd national vice president. At its meeting today, the Regional Branch Division Board elected David Hartley-Margolin as 3rd national vice president. Each vice president also serves as chair of his or her respective division board until the first division board meeting following the annual election in 2009.

Anne-Marie Johnson replaces Kent McCord, who did not seek the post for a second term but continues to serve on the National Board. Commenting on her election, Johnson stated, "I look forward to serving Hollywood members again as 1st vice president and chair of the Hollywood Division. We have several new board members, and I look forward to working with them on behalf of all SAG members."

Sam Freed, who also is serving the second half of a two-year term as New York Branch president, stated, "I am honored by the confidence placed in me by the members of the New York Board. As they know, this is a national union. My actions as 2nd vice president will reflect that reality."

Third National Vice President Steve Fried did not seek another term, but continues to serve on the national board representing the Arizona Branch. Newly elected 3rd Vice President David Hartley-Margolin from the Colorado Branch, stated, "I am honored and humbled by the confidence placed in me by the RBD Board of Directors. I look forward to working with Hollywood, New York and the Regional Branches, national officers and staff, to improve the tenor and collegiality of SAG's political process."

The Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors is meeting face to face this weekend in Los Angeles. SAG's national membership meeting will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. following the National Board meeting at the Marriott Los Angeles Downtown.
