Screen Actors Guild Celebrates 20th Anniversary of ADA
Screening of “Sympathy for Delicious”

Event: Monday, July 26 – Los Angeles City Hall
What: In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Screen Actors Guild Affirmative Action & Diversity will host its inaugural “Dare to Be Diverse” Screening Series with the film Sympathy for Delicious, starring Christopher Thornton, Mark Ruffalo, Juliette Lewis, Orlando Bloom and Laura Linney, written by Christopher Thornton and directed by Mark Ruffalo. A Q&A will follow moderated by actor Ron Livingston.
Sympathy for Delicious is a drama about recently paralyzed DJ "Delicious" Dean as he battles the mean streets of Los Angeles to resurrect his career. The character is portrayed by the film's writer/producer, Christopher Thornton, who also has paraplegia as a result of a 1992 rock-climbing accident.

The screening and Q&A are part of a daylong ADA anniversary celebration at Los Angeles City Hall that begins at noon, in the third floor rotunda, a ceremony will feature the following scheduled guests: Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Controller Wendy Greuel, City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, Council President Eric Garcetti, and Councilmembers Tony Cardenas, Janice Hahn, Tom LaBonge, Jan Perry, and Bill Rosendahl.
Where: Los Angeles City Hall, John Ferraro Council Chamber, 3rd Floor, Room 340, 200 North Spring Street, Downtown Los Angeles.
