Los Angeles (September 9, 2010) – Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, who represents Screen Actors Guild as general counsel and deputy national executive director, has been named to POWER UP’s 10 Amazing Gay Men in Showbiz list for 2010.

POWER UP is a non-profit organization known for its award-winning short films that advance the careers of gay women filmmakers. Two years ago, the group created the men’s list in addition to the 10 Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz list, which has been presented for the past decade.

The accolades honor those who are “working, creating and changing lives as they continue their way up the ladder of success.”

As the Guild’s chief legal strategist and a career-long advocate for workplace equality, Crabtree-Ireland helped found the SAG National LGBT Actors Committee, which provides support for LGBT actors, with a focus on those who choose to be out and open in their careers. He is a past co-president and honoree of the Lesbian & Gay Lawyers’ Association of Los Angeles.

“Duncan is an extraordinary person who richly deserves this honor. I have had the pleasure of working with him from his early days in our legal department and have witnessed firsthand the consistent excellence and deep commitment that he brings to the job each and every day. Screen Actors Guild congratulates our exceptional general counsel and all of our members and entertainment colleagues who were recognized,” said Screen Actors Guild National Executive Director David White.
