Los Angeles, (October 24, 2010) - Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors met in a regularly scheduled, two-day plenary October 23 and 24, in the James Cagney Boardroom at SAG headquarters in Los Angeles.

The board voted to establish the Screen Actors Guild portion of the Joint Industrial and Education Contract Negotiating Committee.  As a matter of long standing policy, SAG does not publicly identify the members of its negotiating committees. The Wages and Working Conditions (W&W) process on this contract is set to begin in late February 2011.

In other business, the national board received updates from executives and staff including:

·      National Secretary-Treasurer Amy Aquino delivered a report on the Guild’s first quarter financial results noting that SAG’s revenue and expenses are within expected ranges for fiscal year 2011. ·      National Executive Director David White reported on the strategic planning efforts underway at the Guild and updated the board on the progress of several member service programs and process enhancement initiatives including the installation of automated technology in the residuals processing department, new, video-based contracts training and member education and informational tools.
