Screen Actors Guild Statement on IATSE Lockout

Los Angeles, CA (May10, 2004) – Screen Actors Guild (SAG) issued the following statement today

“SAG is closely monitoring the troubling situation that is developing on the set of ‘Sisters’ in Eugene, Oregon. IATSE is attempting to negotiate a reasonable contract with the producer on this film that provides safe working conditions and reasonable wages and benefits for workers on the set. The producer’s decision to use a replacement crew rather than bargain an outcome acceptable to both sides is unacceptable. While the cast on this production has a contractual obligation to report to work or face legal liability, SAG intends to support our sister union in every other appropriate way.”
