SF-NorCal Local Sponsors 'Spotlight on San Francisco' at Sundance

In conjunction with the Film SF office and other Bay Area industry stakeholders, the SAG-AFTRA SF-NorCal Local sponsored an event held at The Cabin in Park City Utah on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, during the Sundance Film Festival, dubbed Spotlight on San Francisco. The mixer welcomed filmmakers interested in learning more about the incentives and the “Scene in San Francisco” rebate program for productions based in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as advantages to hiring local talent. 

Those in attendance were excited to celebrate the creative community based in Northern California and the notable work shot in the Bay Area, including festival favorites Freaky Tales and Didi. There was deep appreciation expressed for the extraordinary efforts of members during the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical strike and a united interest in seeing production resume with the protections and gains achieved under the new agreement.
