Making a low-budget project featuring SAG-AFTRA members has never been easier.
We always want members to feel like they can work with rising and independent filmmakers, or even make projects of their own. So, if there’s a project you’re interested in creating, reach out and let us know. We will find a contract that … works for you.

SAG-AFTRA National Director, Entertainment Contracts
The SAG-AFTRA Micro-Budget and Short Project Agreements make it easy for members to be able to work on small-budget projects productions — or even create one of their own — and then showcase these projects at film festivals, on digital platforms and beyond. These two agreements streamline the signatory process for producers and make working with the union easier.
To explain the simplified process, the SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement hosted Small Budget Basics: Micro-Budget and Short Project Agreements on Nov. 8 with SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair as host.
SAG-AFTRA National Director, Entertainment Contracts Jessica Johnson gave a presentation on the agreements’ provisions, similarities and differences, and allowed uses for exhibition. She also answered questions about filming stunts and intimate scenes, deferred payment and other frequently asked questions.
