The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) is a national human services organization that helps address the needs of actors and other entertainment professionals, with a unique understanding of the challenges involved with a life in the arts and the knowledge of what it takes to thrive in an often-unpredictable industry.

As the new year begins, you may be thinking about resolutions for the year ahead. Whether you are searching for industry-adjacent work, creating a budget, enrolling in a health insurance plan or beginning a meditation practice this January, the programs and services of the Fund can help you achieve your goals.

The Career Center
Are you hoping to discover industry-adjacent work or new professional opportunities this year? The Career Center provides a comprehensive suite of workshops, counseling and programs to help you manage your career goals. Begin with attending The Career Center Orientation. Held weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays, this hourlong orientation serves as an introduction to ECF’s services and how it can support you throughout your career.

Financial Wellness 
For those interested in creating a budget and building financial stability, the Financial Wellness program is here to help. Get started with Intro to Financial Wellness. Designed with the unique needs of performing arts and entertainment professionals in mind, this interactive workshop will help you solidify your financial goals and learn simple budgeting strategies to achieve them.

Health Insurance 
If enrolling in a health insurance plan is on your list of goals for 2024, the Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center has you covered. For information about selecting a health insurance plan and finding out if you’re eligible for free insurance or subsidies to reduce the cost of coverage, join Every Artist Insured. Led by experienced navigators, this free online workshop offers unbiased and comprehensive information about finding the best plan to suit your needs.

Social Services
Is finding a sense of balance a priority for you in the new year? Mindfulness Meditation is offered Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. PT. This free 30-minute meditation is grounded in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Come together with others in the entertainment community to experience and learn mindfulness practices utilizing breath and meditation.
