Two Chicago Local committees welcome new co-chairs. SAG-AFTRA members Joan Hammel and Amy Johnson volunteered to fill recently vacated co-chair positions in the Singers and Audiobooks committees. Both performers have a lot in common. Not only are they award-winning and multifaceted performers, but they are also dedicated members who have served on their respective committees for several years prior to becoming co-chairs.
On the Singers Committee, Hammel joins current co-chair Joe Wright.
“I am glad to support my co-chair, Joe Wright, my fellow committee members and the membership. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and I look forward to getting to work on behalf of the membership,” Hammel said.
On the Audiobooks Committee, Johnson serves with interim co-chair Barbara Ann Martin.
“As the new co-chair of the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Local Audiobooks Committee, I look forward to working with Barbara and the committee to strengthen members’ skills, knowledge and work opportunities,” Johnson stated.
