Voting for the SAG Awards® and Attending Screenings Voting for the SAG Awards™ is done in two stages. The first is voting for nominations. Separate nominating committees for film and television are selected at random by computer each year. The second stage of voting begins once nominations have been announced. All active, paid-up members of SAG will receive final ballots to vote on this year’s Actors®. November dues must be paid by December 20, 2004 to receive a final ballot.

Nominating Committees
Each year the SAG Awards™ launches the new season by instituting two new nominating committees to select the nominees for Motion Pictures and for Television. The random sample computer drawings for this year’s nominating committees were held on August 3, 2004. To be eligible to serve, members had to have paid their April 2004 dues by July 16, 2004. In order to more equitably share the opportunity, members who serve on a nominating committee are not eligible to serve on that nominating committee again for three years. SAG members who were selected to serve on this year’s nominating committees have been notified by mail.

Screenings advertised for ‘SAG Nom Comm’ are only for members notified that they were selected to serve on the 11th Annual SAG Awards™ Theatrical Motion Picture Nominating Committee. These ‘SAG Nom Comm’ members may attend film screenings with a special SAG Awards™ Nominating Committee ID card from August through January 7, 2005. Ballots will be sent to members of the Theatrical Motion Picture and Television nominating committees on December 10. Ballots are due back to the elections firm on January 7, 2005.

Important note:

A SAG membership card will not admit members to 'SAG Nom Comm' screenings. Only members notified they were selected to serve on the 11th Annual SAG Awards Theatrical Motion Picture Nominating Committee may identify themselves as 'SAG Nom Comm' members.
