Thank you for stepping up.
I was thrilled to watch Gov. Inslee sign Washington State ESB (Engrossed Substitute Bill) 1914 last Thursday. This is the bill that we, SAG-AFTRA members and staff, helped to get passed with our friends in the House and the Senate, as well as our film industry peers.
I want to thank you for stepping up and talking to your legislators in Washington State, and for continuing the dialogue. Yes, we now have a film incentive that is four times what we had before. We will continue to ask you to keep up the dialogue, as we know that $15 million is still just opening the door a bit wider for more jobs for actors and stunt performers residing in this part of the Seattle Local.
It has been a long climb to get to this point, and we still have further to go.
In unity,
Rik Deskin
SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local President
