SAG-AFTRA applauds the Supreme Court ruling that blocks the efforts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, commonly known as DACA.

Thanks to DACA, undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children can legally work in the United States without fear of deportation. They have much to contribute, and we’re proud to count them among our members and staff.

“Nothing is to be gained by uprooting people who were brought to this country as children, lived their whole lives here, and are conscientious, productive members of society,” said SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. “I am glad compassion won out. This group has been caught in a political crossfire, and I hope today’s ruling can afford them some peace.”
