Take Action Now: Ask Congress to End Race-Based Hair Discrimination

Dear Member,

Please take a moment of your time and lend your voice to help end unequal treatment of people of color, particularly African Americans, based on their hair.

The CROWN Act ensures protection against discrimination based on race-based hairstyles in the workplace and public schools. The U.S. House of Representatives votes on the bill early next week, and your representative needs to hear from you.

Find your legislator HERE and send them an email today.  

Here’s a sample message:

"I am a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, the largest entertainment union in the world representing actors, recording artists and broadcasters, and I am a constituent who cares. I urge you to support the CROWN Act (HR 2116) and put an end to race-based hair discrimination in the workplace once and for all."

Also consider posting your support on social media. Here are some suggestions:
