Please take a moment of your time to stand up for California’s workers by supporting the California FAIR Act (AB 2926).

The California FAIR Act clarifies that workers in California can work multiple jobs, as many now do, to make ends meet and provide for their families.

The passing of this bill can positively impact the lives of our California SAG-AFTRA members because it specifically eliminates outdated exclusivity provisions that prevent actors from pursuing multiple work opportunities.

As actors, we get paid to do a job, but that doesn’t mean the employer controls us nor should it impede our ability to do other jobs. Not for us nor any Californian!

In the UK, actors work in different roles on different productions, and it doesn’t interfere with the success of any of them, so why not here?

The California FAIR Act will also finally allow recording artists to leave their personal services contracts after seven years, a right all other California workers enjoy, without the threat of crushing financial penalties.

Freedom of mobility for workers is essential and benefits all Californians.

And as the saying goes, What passes in California, so goes the nation!

Let us SAG-AFTRA California members support this bill today!

We need to let the California Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism & Internet Media know with the collective might of this great union that its 80,000-plus California members demand passage of the FAIR Act at its Tuesday, April 19 committee hearing. (You can watch the hearing HERE.)
