The Ohio-Pittsburgh Local teamed up with Pittsburgh’s Chapter of Women in Film and Media (WIFM) for a talent showcase on Saturday, Nov. 1, in the auditorium space of 11 Stanwix St. in downtown Pittsburgh. The showcase was back by popular demand and followed a similar format to the showcase that we sponsored in January.
More than 30 actors performed scenes in front of representatives from Pittsburgh casting and talent agencies, including Nancy Mosser Casting, Donna Belajac Casting, Docherty Agency and The Talent Group. This served as a great opportunity for performers to practice and showcase their talent while seeking representation within the local. SAG-AFTRA and WIFM members, as well as non-members from all over Western Pennsylvania and Ohio, gathered that morning to receive their scripts and scene partners. The performers had the morning to rehearse before the showcase began.
The showcase was an enjoyable experience and opportunity for the performers. The agents and casting directors were quite impressed with the variety of SAG-AFTRA performers there and offered some great audition advice after the showcase.
The Ohio-Pittsburgh Local plans to continue collaboration with WIFM and other industry organizations in the community to benefit its members. In fact, we are already in the planning process for the next showcase, tentatively set for the morning of Sunday, Jan. 25. So save the date!
