Get the details on the changes to the 2022 Commercials Contracts fees.
The SAG-AFTRA 2022 Commercials Contracts have introduced a number of new changes to signatory commercial work. One of the most significant pertains to the maximum period of use and holding fees for work.
The third and final installment of the SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement’s informational series on the Commercials Contracts, New Commercials Structure: Max Use & Holding Fees, was streamed on June 6. SAG-AFTRA National Director, Commercials Contracts Tracy Hyman reviewed the changes regarding provisions for MPU and holding fees within the new agreements.
Using examples of commercials aired in traditional, digital and streaming media, Hyman showcased when and how fees are applied during an MPU’s 21-month cycle. Throughout the presentation and in the Q&A session that followed, she answered frequently asked questions about payments and exclusivity clauses.
