As part of SAG-AFTRA New England’s outreach and educational efforts at regional colleges and universities, National Board member Bill Mootos and Local Board member Andrea Lyman spoke at a career skills seminar on April 4. The seminar was held at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and hosted by Helen Lewis, a professor at the conservatory with whom the local office has a strong rapport.

Mootos and Lyman provided graduate-level students and aspiring performers with firsthand insight into the industry and offered tips about navigating the entertainment business. They explained the importance of entertainment arts unions and answered questions about the benefits of joining SAG-AFTRA. Throughout the presentation, students shared their long-term career goals and asked questions about creating original content and performances to advance social justice initiatives.
