Over 4,000 SAG-AFTRA and WGA members and supporters from unions across the Greater New York City area joined forces for the National Day of Solidarity on Tuesday, Aug. 22, outside of the Amazon and HBO offices located on Tenth Avenue in Hudson Yards. The picket was a joint effort among SAG-AFTRA, WGA and the AFL-CIO, and was held in conjunction with similar events in cities across the country. The massive picket took place on the 113th day of the Writers Guild of America strike and the 40th day of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Unions from all areas of labor were represented, from other entertainment industry unions — including DGA, IATSE and Teamsters — to laborers, teachers, and workers from the hotel and retail industries.
