Eight people, throwing shakas, stand in front of a mural depicting the SAG-AFTRA logo. There are five white men and one Hawaiian man in aloha shirts, and two women with short hair, front and center.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, sat down for an informal and informative roundtable discussion with leaders from the Council of Hawaii Entertainment Unions. Among the issues discussed were artificial intelligence and the arts, workers’ rights, the visa waiver program for film/TV productions, and the state of the film and creative industries in Hawaii.

The SAG-AFTRA Hawaii Local is grateful to the senator and her staff for sharing their time and for their continued support of our local actors and film community.
