The SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local Military Personnel and Families Support Committee, which is chaired by Kevin Dobson, convened a panel on May 17 at SAG-AFTRA Plaza that focused on how military veterans can utilize their experience to excel within the industry.

Panelists included union members who are veterans and production team members from the CBS drama SEAL Team, including casting director Erin Domier, stunt performer Dan Briggs, stunt coordinator Julie Michaels, producer Mark Semos and stunt coordinator Peewee Piemonte. Committee member Dan Lauria also participated, along with fellow committee member and moderator Greg Duncan.

Panelists reminded members that opportunities arise from auditions beyond the part they may be reading for. Veterans were also encouraged to use their personal experiences and unique abilities when pursuing work and that the demand is strong for performers with a military background.
