Join the Washington-Mid Atlantic NextGen Committee and your fellow SAG-AFTRA members on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15, 2024) for a Day of Service at Picnic Grove #1 in Rock Creek Park (Near Peirce Mill and 3998 Spring of Freedom St NW, Washington, D.C, 20008). We will be working with the Rock Creek Conservancy, the National Park Service, and Blue Planet Scuba for a litter removal restoration event in Rock Creek Park. Trash is the visible form of stormwater pollution, a major threat to water quality and park health and its removal makes the parklands cleaner, safer, and more beautiful for all.
Please dress appropriately for the work and weather. They recommend wearing sturdy boots or sneakers and long layers, including pants and long sleeves. They also recommend bringing water, and snacks if desired. Tools and supplies will be provided. Please bring your own gloves if you have them.
Event location, directions, and information will be sent from the Rock Creek Conservancy event leader 24 hours prior to the event.
RSVP: Reservations are required. Only a limited number of spots are available, so please register as soon as possible. Please complete the RSVP link on the Rock Creek Conservancy's website. Click HERE to register for this event.
Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.
