Congratulations to Emmanuel Stewart, Kaufherr Resource Center media technician, for his major win at the Urban Action Showcase and Expo for his film The Warrant on Nov. 9 in New York City. The film took the award for Best Urban Action Short Film.
“I’m super excited and filled with joy that that The Warrant won for Best Urban Short Film. I was lucky to be able to work with such a wonderful cast and crew. It was definitely a team effort. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to do another one. Special thanks to The Urban Action Showcase and Expo and the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Local for their support,” said an excited Stewart of his fourth film.
The film, shot entirely in Chicago, had Stewart wearing many production hats, including director, producer, cinematographer and editor. More than 30 people attended The Warrant screening.
The Urban Action Showcase was created by filmmaker Demetrius Angelo, who also serves as executive producer. More than 100 people attended the award ceremony at HBO headquarters in New York City.
