Where: Motion Picture Association Building, 1600 Eye Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20006

SAG-AFTRA members are invited to join the Department for Professional Employees and AFL-CIO in support of WGA at a leafleting action in Washington, D.C. this Wednesday, May 24 at 16th and Eye Street, NW.

WGA members, along with labor movement kin and allies, will be leafleting Disney’s lobby event at the MPA (Motion Picture Association) at 1600 Eye Street, NW. The lobby event features a screening of The Little Mermaid, and we want to make sure attendees to the event know that Disney, along with the other major studios, refuse to negotiate a fair deal with WGA members, including the very people who wrote The Little Mermaid. This is not a picket line and attendees are not being discouraged from attending this event.

When: Wednesday, May 24, 5:45-7:00 p.m. ET

Where: Motion Picture Association Building, 1600 Eye Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20006

RSVP: RSVP below by noon on Wednesday, May 24 so that we can have an estimated number of attendees. Registration is not required to attend.

When you arrive, please sign in with designated SAG-AFTRA staff. To receive a t-shirt, please bring your SAG-AFTRA member ID card or digital card in the member app.

Be sure to show your support on social media with #WGAstrong, #sagaftramember and #1u.

REMINDERS:

If you are contracted to work on a television series or motion picture that continues to produce while the WGA is on strike, you are obligated by your personal service agreement and the “No Strike” clause in our collective bargaining agreements to go to work. You can continue to audition for work and accept new work if you choose to do so.

SAG-AFTRA members should not perform the duties covered by WGA contracts. You should not write anything normally written by striking WGA writers.

Finally, we must support our fellow SAG-AFTRA members on every set even if they have to cross a picket line to get to work. The WGA is aware of the requirements of our No Strike clause and our members’ individual personal service agreements, and the fact that the labor law protections that apply to striking workers do not apply to other workers whose contracts are still in effect.

Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.

ADA requests may be included on your RSVP form below. Please note that ADA requests must be received 48 business hours before the start of the event.
