Residual checks from the television series 4400 have started to come in. Here’s what you need to know regarding which residuals are commissionable to your agent.

The residual structure (what is commissionable) for The CW is located on the Legacy AFTRA Chart. The structure is much like the network rerun concept.

Any reruns of episodes of 4400 on The CW are commissionable if the initial compensation was at least scale plus 10%.

If the show winds up in syndication or on a non-primetime free TV channel and the residual check is over $100, commission is due on the first and second rerun.

Foreign TV, basic cable, pay TV, internet, etc. are not commissionable.

As a reminder, for high budget SVOD shows, such as those on Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc., there are two scenarios for commissionable residuals:

  • For internet rental, if a show was made for Netflix and airs on Netflix, the residuals marked “Internet Rental” are commissionable.
  • When residuals are marked “High Budget Foreign Programming,” it means the Netflix affiliate in foreign countries is airing the show; these are also commissionable. They are different from foreign residuals, which are not commissionable.
