As an actor and creator, creating my own work in this capacity has been a huge help in my career and professional life. … It's helped me immensely [in] making art that is reflective of the world or things that need to be heard.

Pitching still remains an effective way to help you organize your thoughts and communicate your ideas to others — directors, producers, investors and more.

The SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement held The “Pitch” is Back! on Jan. 31. Leading the presentation was SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair and SAG-AFTRA National NextGen Performers Committee Vice Chair and New York Local Board member Sarah Seeds (Riding the D with Dr. Seeds). In addition to her work as an actor, writer and producer, Seeds has established her own business creating pitch decks for other projects.

In her presentation, Seeds outlined the components of a pitch, the best practices for constructing a pitch deck and what to expect during pitch meetings.
